Although sexual violence has historically been seen as a women’s issue, survivors and offenders may actually be of any gender. In 2022, MenHealing. Speak Your Truth Today, FORGE, and MaleSurvivor collaborated to launch the very first Male Survivor Awareness Day. October 25th was designated for this annual observance, with the intention of inspiring education, awareness, and resources that are inclusive of boys and men who are survivors of sexual harm. The upcoming MenHealing Benefit Concert is scheduled on October 26th to coincide with the same weekend as this year’s Fourth Annual Male Survivor Awareness Day.
