a. Description: Zeke Thomas, the son of NBA star Isiah Thomas, tells the inspiring story of his journey through sexual abuse, drug addiction, and recovery to emerge as a successful musician and a passionate activist who stands up against sexual violence. He shares how his various lived experiences as a gay man, a person of color, and a male survivor, all converge as someone who is strong and proud.

6. Title: Richard’s Story

a. Description: In this video, Richard shares a complicated history in which sexual abuse and societal violence became a direct line to incarceration for him as an adult. Richard used his experience behind bars to form a support group with other men from similar backgrounds. As he began to heal, Richard acquired an education while he was inside, and became an “educator, an activist, and a
healer” after his release.

7. Title: Emergency Stabilization Techniques: Hip Swings

a. Description: This emergency stabilization technique teaches you how to use your body and mind in a way that is completely different from what you normally do in times of extreme stress. By changing the actions you are doing in your body, you also change your normal patterns of stress, which helps you hit a pause button in extremely tough moments.

8. Title: Emergency Stabilization Techniques: Body Scan with Intention

a. Description: This is a technique created to help turn down a racing mind while also soothing and relaxing a body that may also be spinning. Mentally combing through your body, and keeping a slow, relaxed breath, notice how tiny movements invite awareness to the different parts. This is truly an adaptable exercise that is used by many people for many different purposes.

a. Description: Rich Sims walks viewers through a practice called Bowling Ball Breathing, which draws upon breath awareness techniques. This exercise is meant to help your body and mind slow down, rather than come to a full stop that can be disruptive. Focus your attention towards your stomach as you imagine a bowling ball settling into your belly; breathe as far in and out as possible and take note of the emotions or feelings that come up.

This exercise is great to explore how you can become more aware of what you are really “doing” in your body, and also what is happening in your physical environment. As a result, you can be more grounded
and centered within yourself and your surroundings.
